Description

During 2003, Lagavulin distillery worker Kevin Campbell and a team of charitable Ileachs rowed around the coastline of Islay, collecting malt whisky from each of the island's seven distilleries. The whisky was duly married in casks and bottled at Bruichladdich before being offered for sale via the internet. Nose
A bit shy, the most exciting thing is how the smoke changes in intensity, from a very subtle background to medium-strength Islay blend, fresh nougat chunks, apricot, resin, banana chips, whiff Capers, lightly burnt brown sugar, cinnamon, marzipan, pine nuts, basil. Very elegant and precise aromas.
Palate
Burnt toast, capers, nutmeg, black pepper, more rustic than on the nose, but the sweetness comes through, brown sugar, cinnamon, apricot, pine nuts, pesto, resin, subtle salt, crispy oak. Balanced and rich flavors.
Finish
Nutmeg, walnut, resin, toffee, cinnamon, oak, grass, medium length. The finish is quite unique, rich and long lasting.
