Nose
Quite earthy, with sweet cereal and grassy notes. Heavily peated, yet balanced and mature. Tart green apple, lemon peel, roasted peanuts, honey-glazed walnuts, and pickled onions. Heavy sherry influence is noticeable, with a sweet profile.
Palate
Intense soot, ash, and tar. Medicinal, with significant salt, sal ammonia, licorice, and cracked black peppercorns. Peat and sherry struggle for dominance, resulting in a salty, maritime, and malty character. Powerful and complex with a smooth texture.
Finish
Lingering medicinal peat and salt, long. Very tarry, dirty, and funky with smoke, reminiscent of a steamboat chimney at sea. Hints of fruit and ashes appear, followed by sherry influence with dried fruits and a touch of sourness. Delicate and smooth.
