Nose
A phenolic opening drifts over a sweet, malty backdrop of barley sugar, butterscotch and golden syrup. Through aromas of sea-washed rocks there's touches of vanilla syrup, dry crystallised ginger and a slight peppery agave note.
Palate
A bonfire of phenol notes cover an oily Taste, with heavy oak char and thick peat smoke rising highest. A concoction of ripe black fruits, steamed treacle pudding and a little citric element bring complex, sweet depth. A salty, mineral lick element takes hold of the backdrop.
Finish
Peppery spice and citrus carry through, but leaves generous room for sweet and syrupy aniseed.
