Description

The Port Dundas 52 Year Old 2017 Special Release is a limited edition single grain Scotch whisky from the now-closed Port Dundas distillery in Glasgow, Scotland. Established in 1811, Port Dundas was a historic grain whisky distillery and a cornerstone of Scotland's whisky industry, known for producing grain whisky for many blended Scotch whiskies. This particular expression, distilled in 1964 and matured for over half a century in refill American oak hogsheads, was bottled in 2017 at a natural cask strength of 44.6% ABV. It was part of Diageo's annual Special Releases, and with only 752 bottles available, it was noted as the oldest whisky and one of the smallest editions to ever appear in the series at the time of its release.

Nose
Full and expressive with notes of dried coconut, granola, rum, vanilla and coffee Revels. Plenty of tropical fruit too.
Palate
Nougat and bourbon, and then all that goodness from the nose starts to carry over and you can't help but smile. Really impressive grain whisky.
Finish
Tunnock's Snowballs in all their desiccated coconut covered glory with touches of grapefruit to boot.
