Formed after Fred and Stewart Laing parted ways in 2013, Hunter Laing is under ownership of the latter and his two sons. The company took over Edition Spirits and began releasing their First Editions series. This particular expression was distilled in March 1983 at the now closed Port Ellen distillery on Islay, before maturing for 33 years in a sherry butt. Bottled in November 2016 at a strength of 55.9% abv, only 142 have been produced. Each bottle is presented in a brown leather box, embossed with gold metallic text, and are individually wax sealed. This is a limited edition expression, inspired by the life and work of Alfred Tennyson.
