Description

Powers 12 Year Old Special Reserve Millennium Edition is a blended Irish whiskey with a high proportion of pot still whiskey, aged for a minimum of 12 years. It was launched in 2000 to commemorate the Millennium and is matured primarily in refill ex-bourbon casks with additional time in refill ex-sherry casks. It is triple distilled and known for its spicy, honeyed, full-bodied flavor.

Nose
Warm honey, raw sugar, caramel, cereal grains, vanilla cake, light and refreshing fruity aroma, with hints of wood spice, sweet ripe pears, apples, tropical fruit, and cocoa.
Palate
Smooth with an oily, spicy pot still warmth, toasted nuts, honey, whiskey spice, light citrus, delicate fruitiness, malt, semi-sweet chocolate, and stewed fruit.
Finish
Medium-long with malt, banana, caramel, and a slight grain note. Nicely tannic, crisp, sweet grain, with a little flash of bitter coffee, and hints of burnt peppercorns and wood.
