A bottle of Fercullen Single Malt Irish Whiskey from Powerscourt Distillery. This 2024 release was matured in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at a cask strength of 56.6% ABV. It is triple-distilled, crafted with Wicklow mountain water using locally sourced barley, non-chill filtered and with natural colour.

Brown sugar glazed pie crust, stewed apple and rhubarb, toffee and custard. Fruits in syrup, peaches, apricots, honey, malty notes. Roses, orange blossom, honeysuckle, ginger spice, apple juice, lemon zest, herbal notes.
Palate
Dulce de leche, browned butter shortbread, poached pears. Intense, sweet and malty, apples and peaches, butter cookies, cream, cereal cookies with fruit. Fresh floral and fruity notes.
Finish
Thick custard, cracked peppercorn, nutmeg, leather. Fairly short, spicy, fruit residues, oak, vanilla, nuts, fruit peel, dried fruit.
