Description

A former Scottish blending company, Macdonald Greenlees Ltd, originally founded in 1840. The company achieved considerable success with its Grand Old Parr brand before being acquired by the Distillers Company in 1925. It continued to operate through the 20th century before being wound up by Diageo in 2008. Macdonald Greenlees produced its various blended Scotch brands, including President.

Light caramel syrup, molasses, red-wine sherry hint, raspberry, plum, granite, generic grain, orange peel, varnish, leather, old musty floor boards, wood smoke, waxy, buttercream frosting, barnyard straw.
Palate
Light entry with building sweetness, ruby fruits and malt. Full, thick mouthfeel like chewing caramel. Flavors build to smoke, mud/clay, barnyard straw and old pan grease.
Finish
Clean transition, smoke/mud/straw become darker and persistent. Fruit, soot and bitter herbal notes with a long, warming taper.
