Nose
Immediate notes of sea air, brine, and salted caramel, quickly overtaken by dark dried fruits (dates and figs), dark honey, and spiced walnuts from the sherry influence.
Palate
Full bodied and oily. A powerful blend of coastal salinity, dark chocolate, baking spices (nutmeg and clove), and concentrated orange peel. The maritime character keeps the rich sherry from becoming heavy.
Finish
Extremely long and warming, starting sweet and finishing with drying oak, pepper, and a lingering, pleasant salty tang.
