Description

An iconic Lowland single malt from the closed Rosebank distillery, bottled by independent bottler Douglas Laing as part of their Director's Cut series. Distilled in 1992 and aged for 21 years, this triple-distilled whisky was bottled in 2013 at natural cask strength (53.8% ABV) from a single refill hogshead cask. This limited release offers a complex profile, preserving Rosebank's hallmark floral-citrus elegance framed by vanilla cream, orchard fruit, and polished oak spice.

Nose
Clean, fresh, fruity, sweet, candy-like, with light honey and vanilla. Floral bouquet, icing sugar, sweet citrus (lemons, oranges), and hints of buttered loaves, warm malt, and white pepper.
Palate
Initially peppery, then mouthcoating with spiced, macerated fresh fruit. Sweet, with coconut, vanilla, honey, and lemon rind. Develops into drier oak notes, more citrus oils, and grassy features. Big and sharp with citrus acidity, grated ginger, white pepper, clean malt bins, and honey-butter oiliness.
Finish
Long, with a sweetly gristed character that runs drier and spiced to a more oaky style. Flowers, grass, and citrus, drying out with pencil shavings and old oak. Bitter herbals, juniper, lemon pith, and acidic afterburn.
