Roseisle was mired in controversy even before construction had even started. The largest distiller, building a large distillery signalled some doom-mongers to predict that parent firm Diageo would use Roseisle's opening as an excuse to close down some of its smaller sites. Nose
A vibrant and mellow nose with notes of honeyed malt, vanilla, marzipan, and a touch of molasses and cereal. Fruity elements like pear, peach, apple, lemon zest, and pineapple are present, along with floral hints, buttercream, and warm oak.
Palate
Smoothly creamy and waxy in texture, sweet with vanilla icing, wild honey, and marzipan. It offers a burst of fruity flavors such as peach, melon, pear brandy, and tinned peaches, complemented by spices like white pepper, ginger, cinnamon, and dry oak. Some notes of honeycomb, toffee, and chocolate caramels are also detected.
Finish
A long, warming, and richly sweet finish with light spice, white pepper, and a lingering sweetness. Notes of raw honey, floral hints, nutty and creamy undertones, aniseed, caraway, and green fruits are present, sometimes with a slight oak bitterness.
