Royal Lochnagar Distillers Edition 2010 is a special double matured release from Royal Lochnagar, distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2010 at 40%. A finish in old Muscat cask wood brings a sweet, floral richness to balance Royal Lochnagar's subtle sandalwood style and so reveals a deeper side of this regal malt whisky.

Woody and resinous, potpourri, fresh lemon and orange oil with green grapes, tart green pineapple, barley, honey, anise seed/licorice, mint, ripened dark fruits, and dry grass.
Palate
Oily and buttery with vanillas, sweet and spicy notes like peppermints, candied ginger, licorice, sweet grape, orange peel, nutty and honeyed foundation, hints of sultana, and a grassy component.
Finish
Spices and wisps of wood smoke, dried fruit (fig), sugary jam, floral, sweet, sour, bitter, overripe tangerine, cinnamon, assam tea, and watermelon with rind.
