Description

The Manager's Dram was chosen annually in competition from United Distillers (now Diageo) distillery Managers, where a blind nosing would eventually determine the overall winners from over 100 of the finest whiskies. The Manager's Dram was first released in the 1980's and was not originally available on general sale to the public; there has been some astounding entries in the series over the years. This Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old Manager's Dram was specially selected by malt distilling managers within Diageo and bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.1%. It was available exclusively to Diageo employees, making it a highly collectible limited edition release.

Bright citrus with subtle spice and oak. Creamy, aromatic with hints of hay, malted barley, oak, mixed peels, planed wood, light toffee, boat varnish, linseed oil, putty, and lychee-like acidity.
Palate
Rich honey with a hint of toasted almond. Soft smoke and gingerbread, oodles of toasty spices, Demerara sugar and boiled sweets. Fruits, planed wood, and light toffee, sweet before gaining in acidity.
Finish
Long, warming with sweet vanilla nuances. Grass and honey. Dry, medium-length, with an attractive lingering sandalwood aftertaste, sharp and well-balanced.
