Description

As the name suggests, Royal Salute's Hundred Cask Selection is a limited batch release made from a selection of 100 casks. For release 14 Chivas took some of their oldest whiskies and created a blend which oozes opulence, with notes of dark dried fruit, honey, warming spice and delicate floral notes, finishing long and graceful.

Nose
Big and rich, with fruit and nut, black cherry, olde English marmalade, peat, moss/fern, dried peels, black banana, caramel, and some smoke. Also notes of sugary caramel, vanilla, almonds, sherry influence, oakiness, ripe tropical fruits like apricot, papaya, melon, honey, and cinnamon.
Palate
Sweet and rich, with fruit cake sweetness, dark sugars, vanilla, nuttiness, cinnamon, honey, sugar candy, prunes, and soft oak undertones. It has a thick feel and a well-integrated blend with sandalwood, rolling tobacco, barky notes, and delicate spice.
Finish
Nutty and long, with medium length, spices, cocoa, vanilla, gentle oak, leathery sandalwood, and linseed putty.
