Description

Shinobu Pure Malt Mizunara Oak is a Japanese blended malt whisky crafted by Master Blender Mr. Ken Usami. It is made by carefully selecting malt whiskies from around the world, which are initially matured in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks before undergoing a finishing period in precious Japanese Mizunara oak. This process imparts a unique fusion of flavors, resulting in a smooth and easy-to-drink whisky. It is bottled at 43% ABV, non-chill filtered, and has no added coloring. The Shinobu Distillery is located in Niigata, Japan.

Inviting aromas of vanilla, honey, and exotic spices with a hint of smokiness, along with notes of heather honey, beeswax, green apple, pear, grapefruit, white pepper, and exotic woods. Some orange zest, toffee, grassy, and oaky tones are also present.
Palate
Smooth and velvety, with delicate flavors of vanilla, honey, exotic spices, and a touch of floral elegance from the Mizunara oak. It offers light yellow fruits, lemon, creamy fudge, pepper, fruit tarts, grapefruit, sandalwood, and some burnt caramel.
Finish
Medium to long and elegant, with a lingering complexity and refined smoothness, featuring notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, milky coffee, sweet wood, and a slight bitterness.
