Description
Shirakawa 1958 is an extremely rare Japanese single malt, notable as the earliest known single vintage Japanese whisky ever bottled and the only official single malt release from the lost Shirakawa Distillery, which operated from 1939 to 2003. Discovered in 2019 in stainless steel tanks, the whisky was distilled in 1958 and matured in oak, likely Mizunara, before being transferred to ceramic jars. This limited edition of 1500 bottles was released in 2022.
