Shizuoka United S 2023 Winter Edition, Bourbon Cask, 2023, 50.5%

The Shizuoka distillery in Japan uses two primary stills: W and K. Still K, an elegant 1950s copper pot rescued from the legendary Karuizawa distillery, coaxes a light, floral new-make, while the wood-fire still W produces a muscular spirit. Shizuoka United S 2023 Winter Edition combines these two types of spirit, creating a smooth and well-balanced character. The mash bill includes Japanese two-row barley, imported peated and un-peated malt, plus a dash of beer malt, building layers of orchard fruit, toasted cereal, and a soft wisp of smoke. It is bottled at 50.5% ABV.
