This unique, limited edition Slyrs first matured for 5 years in the Slyrs warehouse and then for a further 9 months in selected beer barrels from the Gebrüder Maisel KG brewery, in which special craft beers with intense, strong flavors were previously stored.

The contrast is what makes this interesting to me: ripe fruit and dark malt bring a weightier, sweeter side, while the finish’s herbs and hops offer a more savoury turn. The nose’s forest honey and dried mountain flower hay sound quietly distinctive, rather than simply sweet. I’d be curious to see how that herbal ending sits alongside the velvety palate on paper.
