Nose
Sweet and unique with notes of orange rind, butterscotch, strawberry, roses, green apple, and cooked wild game. Also peppery, honey, vanilla, custard, fresh cut grass, and a hint of sulfur. Some describe it as wet granite, candied orange peel, fermenting mango, flambee Christmas pudding, and even steamed meat and cabbage dumpling.
Palate
Rich and full-bodied, sweet and savory, with a funky character. Flavors include honey glazed salmon, cooked mutton, vanilla cream, pears, caramel, molasses, balsamic vinegar, and nutty notes like walnuts and hazelnuts. Also sweet to start, then savory with fermenting mango, sulphur, sorghum, molasses, and a brothy quality with emerging pepper.
Finish
Medium to long, described as weird and strange. Notes of mesquite, lemon pie, fennel, oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemoncello, bacon, and nutty flavors. Some detect cannabis, black pepper, and a dip into eucalyptus oil, returning to wet stone and tropical fruit wine.
