Description
This 25-year-old single malt whisky, named 'Fruit Utopia', is a unique small batch release from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Its maturation process was inspired by techniques found in the Cognac region. The spirit spent an initial twenty years in Speyside ex-bourbon hogshead barrels, followed by three months in custom toasted French oak barriques from Seguin Moreau cooperage, and then a further five years in fresh second-fill ex-bourbon barrels. This meticulous cask management aimed to develop a silk-like texture and complex fruity layers.
