Description

The SMWS Wandering Alchemy 10 Year Old is a small-batch blended malt, marking a significant first for The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. It is crafted from whiskies sourced from each of Scotland's five whisky-producing regions: Speyside, Highlands, Lowlands, Islay, and Campbeltown. These whiskies were matured in a selection of ex-American Bourbon, Oloroso, Pedro Ximenez, and HTMC hogsheads. The resulting whisky has bags of character, wisps of smoke, and an abundance of honey, reminiscent of "old-school" blends of the past.

Nose
Delicate heather honey–sweetened raisin wrapped in a soft wisp of peat and wood smoke, with a subtle hint of treacle and a touch of stem ginger.
Palate
Delicious heather honeyed raisin and treacle with a lovely peat and spice infusion leads, a wee touch of saltiness and a touch of liquorice.
Finish
A medium-length finish where spicier oak gradually overtakes the fading traces of heather honey, now tinged with a salty note.
