Description

Spey Tenné Tawny Port Cask Finish Batch #2 is a single malt Scotch whisky from The Speyside Distillery. This limited release is initially aged in bourbon casks and then finished for six months in Tawny Port casks from the Quinto de Filoco winery. Bottled at 58.6% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and has no age statement, though it is said to be a minimum of eight years old. This expression is particularly popular in Asian markets.

Nose
Sweet and fruity with notes of raisins, red apples, vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate, and subtle spices. Hints of sour cream, overripe red fruit, and rosé wine. Faint raspberry jam, pot-pourri, and pale fruits, with floral and citrus notes.
Palate
Good oiliness, sweet and faintly fruity, with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, licorice root, red fruit, honey, vanilla, marmalade, raisins, and oak. A white pepper tingle and savory notes are also present.
Finish
Medium to long, spicy and fruity, with lingering sweetness and oakiness. Notes of cooked apples, cherries, vanilla, cinnamon, and toasted dried fruit. Dries slightly, leaving a trace of almonds and tart cherry.
