Description

The Spirit of Birmingham Inaugural Release is the first whiskey from Birmingham's first distillery, founded in 2020. This Single Pot Still Whiskey is crafted using a signature mash-bill of traditionally floor malted heritage grains, including malted Maris Otter barley, un-malted flaked barley, malted oats, malted rye, and chocolate malt. It was aged in a combination of first-fill ex-Buffalo Trace bourbon and virgin Staffordshire oak casks. Bottled in June 2025 at 48% ABV, this limited edition release consists of 900 bottles and is non-chill filtered.

Thick sweet and oily texture, full-bodied with caramel and apples, vanilla fudge, hint of wild flour honey, warming peppery spice, soft wood note, subtle dark fruit and chocolate complexity, honey, dried fruit, cheesecake, lemon meringue note, vanilla custard, juicy poached pear.
Finish
Long, warming note with lingering sweet spice, touch of barrel char, long and smooth with lingering oak and spice, lingering honey, cheesecake and peppery spice, very long, very intense with grainy chocolaty notes, caramel notes.
