Description

Released in mid-2017, this Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength is part of the distillery's popular and collectible Cask Strength Collection. Bottled at 56.5% ABV, this expression is aged for 12 years in a balanced mix of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Springbank is unique as one of the few Scottish distilleries to perform every step of the whisky-making process on-site in Campbeltown, from malting to bottling. It is non-chill filtered and free of artificial coloring, offering a classic Campbeltown style with rich, oily texture, maritime salinity, and gentle smoke.

Cherry syrup, menthol, malt, raspberry, leather, floral, honey, ginger, dried fruits, and light peat, with hints of smoke, spice, and sea spray. Notes of molten fudge, toffee, fortified wine, and red berry jam on rye toast.
Palate
Full-bodied and rich with pepper, raspberry jam, citrus, malt, leather, and orange peel. Layers of caramel, dark chocolate, brine, and peat, with a viscous mouthfeel revealing stewed fruits, raisin, and Christmas cake.
Finish
Long, warming, and powerful, with lingering oak spice, smoke, sweet toffee, ginger, and faint peat. Fruity and meaty notes continue, with a light sweetness of honey.
