Description

This Springbank was distilled in 1994 and matured for 23 years before being bottled in 2017 by the Belgian independent bottler, The Nectar of the Daily Drams. Springbank is one of the last surviving producers of Campbeltown Single Malts and is known for performing every step of the whisky-making process on-site. This particular release is a single cask, non-chill filtered expression.

Nose
Incredibly clean and crisp mango and green papaya, with a quick icy peppermint ping. Sooty smoke rises quietly, while deep earthy peat gradually stacks up. Balmy fruits casually unwind with subtle farm-y hay signatures.
Palate
Stewed tropical fruits, tobacco ashes, and earthy peat braiding together beautifully. Boiled mangoes, coconut jelly, and baked papaya. Mossy touches and medicinal overtones convert into bittersweet orange drops. Earthy notes merge with dark chocolate fudge, with a faint hint of hay or meatiness lingering at the back.
Finish
Chocolate éclair with extra cacao powder dusting down. A final bite of tropical fruit tart, perfumed eau de vie, and mineral peat to finish.
