Description

A revered single malt distillery in Campbeltown that has operated since 1828. It is today owned by J&A Mitchell & Co who produce three single malt styles there. These are its flagship two-and-half times distilled Springbank, a heavily-peated malt known as Longrow, and the triple-distilled Hazelburn. *

Notes of carambola, fresh hint of camphor, cooked apple, yellow apple (apple peel), green apple, yellow fruit. Minerality with an oxidized patina, waxy cerealosity.
Palate
Amazing tropical fruit, very intense and explosive variety: coconut, maracuja, passion fruit, peach, apple. Patina of wax. Salty licorice with menthol veins. Usual flavor of Springbank, mild, with a hint of seaweed.
Finish
Long, persistent, with sugary notes of almond and marzipan, after a very first tropical flare.
