Description

Springbank CV is a unique, non-age statement single malt whisky from the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. It is a vatting of whiskies of varying ages, typically between 7, 10, and 14 years old, matured in a combination of Bourbon, Sherry, and Port casks. The 'CV' is often interpreted as 'Curriculum Vitae', signifying a representation of the distillery's diverse character and blending expertise. Springbank is known for its traditional production methods, including floor malting and being distilled two-and-a-half times.

Nose
Sharp with mild peaty notes, chemical-like qualities, sweat, brine, malt, light smoke, earthy and mineral tones of soils, wet hay, damp leafiness, slate, granite, shale, tropical and citrus fruits like bananas and lemons, and vegetal notes of broccoli and sprouts. Hints of honey, pear, vanilla, leather, caramel, and oily peat also emerge.
Palate
Full-bodied with gentle peat smoke, sea spray, hay, juniper, salt, wood, citrus, malty sweetness, grapefruits, lemons, grape juice, coastal smoke, pepper, mineral, pungent, ashy, toffee, apple, oak, and smouldering wood. Oily and unctuous texture with ripe peaches, apricots, cinnamon, nutmeg, and dark chocolate.
Finish
Heat and spice build and dominate, long with peppery notes, medium sweetness and juicy fruits, lingering malt, spice, smoke, brine, a touch of oak and citrus, and a pleasant warmth with a unique Springbank funk.
