Nose
Lots of sherry, salted peanuts, tobacco leaves, aniseed, molasses, cherry syrup, smouldering embers. Deep sweet Springbank, with notes of tobacco, leather, shoe polish, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, woody notes, saltiness/chloride, and distant peat notes.
Palate
Quite salty, mocha, bitter orange peel, rubber, bacon, cured meats. Nice full fatty spirit, lovely viscosity, sweet, mash-tun notes, gentle cigar smokiness. Oily, big viscous arrival, pepper, peat, dark, dried fruity notes, malt, hints of coffee, leather saddles, licorice, coastal saltiness.
Finish
Salt. Long, oily finish continues, perfectly delivering sweet, warm nuttiness. Honey and gooseberries. Hint of green pepper alongside lemon, sea water, lapsang souchong, smoked almonds.
