Description

A revered single malt distillery in Campbeltown that has operated since 1828. It is today owned by J&A Mitchell & Co who produce three single malt styles there. These are its flagship two-and-half times distilled Springbank, a heavily-peated malt known as Longrow, and the triple-distilled Hazelburn.

Nose
Fresh, clean and lively. Warming vanilla notes soon settling down to reveal a hint of citrus and a touch of honey and wine to come through. Hints of vanilla mixed with an earthy, almost peaty aroma. The combination of these smells make for a complex and intriguing first sip.
Palate
As with all classic Springbanks, there are so many flavours to discover. Initially sweet and creamy with a spicy, crisp, briny salt and sweets quickly followed by a hint of peat. A good balance of fruit, nuts, vanilla, wine, citrus and almonds. A hint of peat smoke hints to the long finish.
Finish
Long and pleasant. Salty and cleansing, one of the key parts to any great Springbank, leaving with you for long after you have finished, a rich and satisfying taste.
