Nose
Leathery-dried dark fruit, honey, cocoa, malt, and the signature 'Springbank funk' with subtle wisps of peat and sherry. Hints of cured meat, barbecued beef jerky, clove, mint, iodine, and tinned prunes are also present, along with a maritime influence.
Palate
Rich, decadent, and oily with caramel-laced spices, stewed fruits, and a light but distinct Springbank peat. Flavors of sooty kiln smoke, tobacco leaves, prunes, walnuts, figs, Demerara sugar, cocoa powder, and smoked meats, with a balanced earthiness.
Finish
Medium to long, with lingering lightly peaty sherry spices, oiliness, soot, leather, and walnuts, fading gradually like the coastal tides of Kintyre.
