Description

For a period, Campbeltown was the undisputed Whisky Capital of the World, boasting over 30 distilleries operating simultaneously at its peak. Locally available peat, barley and coal, coupled with a quick steamship service to Glasgow meant this thriving industry lasted into the early 20th Century. Alas; ultimately (and perhaps inevitably) it proved unsustainable, and by 1935 the bubble had well and ... This Springbank Hand Filled Distillery Exclusive is a unique single malt, hand-filled at the distillery. These bottlings are often referred to as 'infinity bottles' or a 'solera system of sorts', containing a mix of Springbanks of various ages and cask types, topped up with available stock [3, 6, 9, 18, 22].

Fresh and sweet with notes of pineapple, starfruit, tangerines, toffee apples, bran muffins, and French butter biscuits with milk chocolate. Lightly creamy and beeswaxy, with subtle peat smoke, cool floral notes of bromeliads and orange blossoms, and a hint of sherry with golden raisins and aged balsamic. [2, 3]
Palate
Thick texture, arriving sweet and juicy with tropical fruits, blossoming flowers, honeycomb, and a hint of salt. Develops with hibiscus tea, lavender, rich honeycomb, beeswax, soft earthy peat smoke, dunnage, Darjeeling tea, roasted almonds, sesame seeds, intensifying salt to brine, crisp apples, and flamed baking spices. Finish
Medium-long, complex, and gentle, with smoldering peat and machine shop notes. Candied tropical fruits, canned pears, apple cider, tangerines, pizza crusts drizzled with olive oil, aloe vera, and ferns. [2, 3]
