Nose
Sweet and spicy with honeycomb, citrus, tropical fruit, and a dunnage funk. Notes of dried orchard fruit, banana chips, graham, honey, and olde candy sweetness are present, alongside brine, new leather, pipe tobacco, and a touch of sherry. Mineral, chalk, green fruitiness, lemon, unripe nectarine, sea air, candle wax, and gentle peat also emerge.
Palate
Oily and voluptuous with sweet malty notes, honeycomb, pineapple, and zest. Flavors of dried orchard fruit, malty graham, banana chips, baking spice, and honey are balanced by peaty spices, smoked morels, coal dust, and ham. Milk chocolate, marzipan, gentle woodsmoke, oak spices, green/leafy notes, acrid wood, herbal tea, salted nuts, and peppery notes contribute to its complexity.
Finish
Medium to long with a peaty backbone, sweet oak, gentle ginger spice, and tobacco leaf/cigar smoke. Lingering notes of butterscotch cake, filberts, dried orchard fruit, malt, roasted nuts, and baking spice. A characteristic sea salt note, slightly bitter liquorice, and a maritime/mineral aftertaste are also present.
