Description

A German importer and distributor founded in 1977 by Dr Jurgen Setter. The company became the German agent for William Cadenhead in the 1980s, who helped it produce its first own-branded independent bottlings shortly after. These have appeared under both the Scoma and Glenscoma label over the years. A revered single malt distillery in Campbeltown that has operated since 1828. It is today owned by ... Sherried with aromas of lemon, beeswax, coffee, subtle smoke, polish, freshly sawn wood, almonds and ripe pears. Also notes of prune, cherry and dry pear, dust and some peat.
Palate
Waxy with soft sherry, dried fruit, maritime smokiness, fresh mint, citrus, shoe polish, chocolate and raisins. Against the background of prunes, a lot of chocolate and coffee, mint, dust and coals.
Finish
Long, drying and earthy. Peppery enough with the same chocolate, mint and lots of salt.
