A revered single malt distillery in Campbeltown that has operated since 1828. It is today owned by J&A Mitchell & Co who produce three single malt styles there. Nose
This is reminiscent of old Jamaican molasses rum and old distilleries. Pipe tobacco, old leather, furniture polish, tar, dirty ports and more delicious old age scents. Like being on an old Indian motorbike that leaks some oil and uses a lot of petrol.
Palate
Walnuts left just too long, balsamic vinegar, aged madeira and more flavours like that. Again, the flavour of petrol pump and garage, old library and chimney. Hint of cherries if we do have to mention something fruity, maybe some dates and plums, but mostly a lovely powerful nice dirty flavour.
