Description

A spectacular Springbank single malt, independently bottled by Decadent Drinks in collaboration with Whisky Sponge for the third edition of the Westie Sponge series. Distilled in 1999 and matured for 24 years in a first-fill sherry butt, it was bottled in 2024 at natural cask strength. This powerful and rugged example of Springbank showcases coastal and salty notes, with a leathery, nutty, and slightly tarry sherry profile, complemented by intricate layers of wax, minerals, and soft peaty smoke.

Finish
Very long, medicinal, umami, squid ink, ointments, natural tar liqueur, resinous fir wood, camphor, gloriously fresh and coastal aftertaste, long bitterness (dark chocolate and espresso), medium length.
