Nose
Full-bodied aroma with sweet maltiness, hints of oak, powerful spice, lemon-waxy notes, red chilli, mineral notes, doughy malt, syrupy tropical and white fruits, light gunpowder, whetstone, sweet, spicy, and a touch of funkiness. Some sources also note sulphur, peat, burnt caramel/toffee, orange candy, soy sauce, and light smoke.
Palate
Splendid taste with a warm feel, not smoky but silky smooth. Complex with notes of stone fruits, crushed stones, black tea, robust heat, round citrus sweetness, bitterness of candle wax, hot chilli, herbal/grassy notes, lemon fragrance, timber wood, oaky tail. Powerful and muscular, meaty, with marble syrup and sweet spices.
Finish
Very long and chewy, mellowing quickly with herbal notes, light peat, dry oak, stewed tropical fruits laminated with a thin layer of wax, vanilla malt, and citrus beaming positively.
