Description
The tiny Perthshire distillery of Strathearn could reasonably be described as a "craft" distillery. As well as producing rum and gin, their small Alambic stills can be used to produce whisky, which they do in relatively small batches. However, in addition to traditional Scotch whisky, they have also been known to experiment with alternate wood types for maturation, such as mulberry, cherry and chestnut. This is an unashamedly young, yet surprisingly mature single malt. This craft distillery is innovative in flavour, where hand crafted spirit meets the finest European oak and ex-sherry casks. Soft and mellow oak makes up the backbone of this dram and allows the sweetness of the fruit & subtle sweetness of the cranberry like to shine through. Dynamic and an exciting whisky at its finest.
