Nose
Fantastic notes of roasted hazelnuts, mint leaves, and milk chocolate. Develops with a superb 'vinosity', game, pepper, ham, and wild mushrooms. Complex, with notes of maple syrup, candied fruit, plum, roasted nuts, polished leather, and old oak, along with some damp earth, coffee bean, cinnamon, and mint.
Palate
Superb, roasted, candied, but quite nervous. Lots of fresh fruits (oranges, strawberries) and a dash of cinnamon. Gently sherried, soothingly oily in texture.
Finish
Surprisingly long, but maybe a tad too oaky. Very enjoyable smokiness in the background. Soft, rounded.
