A historic Japanese whisky, Suntory Special Reserve is a blended whisky first released in 1969 to commemorate Suntory's 70th anniversary. It is a blend of Chita grain, Yamazaki, and Hakushu malts, often matured in first-fill American oak barrels.

A soft arrival with toffee, fudge, chocolate, orange, white pepper, bitter chocolate, woody notes, burnt sugars, liquorice, spent coffee grounds, maple syrup, spicy notes, umami-tinged pepper and ginger, cough syrup, golden delicious apples, freshly made pancakes, toasted almonds, nuts, and cooked apples.
