Description

This Talisker 12 Year Old 'Friends of Classic Malts' is a special bottling released in 2007 to commemorate a decade of the Friends of the Classic Malts series. It is an Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky, bottled at 45.8% ABV, and is noted for being a step up in depth and class from the standard 10-year-old expression. Matured in European Oak, it offers a rich and spicy profile while retaining Talisker's characteristic maritime notes. This limited edition release of 21,500 bottles was initially available exclusively to the Friends of the Classic Malts community.

Nose
Intense combination of bready cereals, raw peat, honey and spices, with some pepper, salt, and a slightly maritime character (seaweed, oily fish). Some vegetal notes, cucumber, olives, and a hint of peach.
Palate
Big cereal entry, intense spice, well-balanced with a mouthwatering sweet note. Fiery spice with white pepper and red chili, delicious toasty flavors. Oily mouthfeel, lots of salt, meaty notes, honey, sugar-coated nuts, and hints of mustard.
Finish
Salty, slightly peaty and smoky, with some sweet oak influence. Honey smooths everything out as the spice slowly fades. Medium long, with black pepper, raisins, and slight orange zest.
