Nose
Slightly peated and sweet, grassy and vegetal, with organic and slightly fruity acidity. Notes of nutty, fresh, pungent aromas, warm motor oil, cooked red beets, fireplace, coffee, mocha, cardboard, well-aged Calvados, dark chocolate bonfire, sugar water, peach, and apple. Also, toffee, fresh cookies, waxy ripe fruit, bonfire smoke, damp peat, pepper, brine, smoked kippers, and a hint of seaweed.
Palate
Initially bitter with charred wood, green and vegetal notes, warming. Strong coffee with almonds, fresh fruity acidity, a narrow band of green apple skins, peaty notes, and the classic Talisker pepper attack. Followed by silky bitter notes and then sweetness. Hints of warm plastic. Full-bodied and thick, becoming slightly briny, intensely oaky, and flat-out sweet.
Finish
Long, built around peat and wood, with gentle pepperiness and a progressive fade of fruits. Hot-wired, lively, prickly on the tongue, luscious, dry, smoky, and peppery.
