Description

1886 was the year in which Tamdhu came into this world when it was built by a consortium of blenders, and it is for blends that Tamdhu has dutifully made spirit for most of its life. Now owned by Ian Macleod Distillers, there has been a re-focus on this under-appreciated single malt that has played an important part for so long in blends such as Cutty Sark and The Famous Grouse. In 2017, Tamdhu ce ... For the Lunar Year of the Ox (2021), Tamdhu released this single malt, bottled at full strength of 58% ABV and matured exclusively in sherry oak. It is unapologetically rich and un-chillfiltered.

Vanilla with aged oak and spice balanced with fresh berries. Raisins, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, cinnamon and polished oak. Rich and delicate nose.
Palate
Intensely rich with sherry oak, slowly revealing dried fruit and citrus. The richness matures into malt and biscuit, with lingering orange zest. Big and warming with orange peel, espresso bitterness, dense sherry sweetness and oak spice. Balanced and rich flavors.

Lingering dried fruit and spice. Rich malt, biscuit and orange peel that lasts long. Elegant long-lasting aftertaste.
