Description

A blended Scotch whisky from Pràban Na Linne, a company established in 1976 on the Isle of Skye to provide authentic whiskies for the Gaelic-speaking Hebridean Islands. This 'Nan Eilean' (Little Lady of the Isles) expression, estimated to be bottled in the 1990s, contains a high proportion of aged single malts, matured in sherry casks. It is non-chill filtered, preserving a softer, fuller, and richer character. The blend is known for its complexity, combining peated and unpeated malts from various Scottish regions, including suspected Talisker from Skye, along with Islay, Highland, and Speyside malts.

Nose
Soft and balanced with sweet malt aromas, fine smoke, hints of honey, oat biscuits, a touch of sea salt, subtle sherry nuances, and a gentle, slightly maritime scent, with a whiff of sea brine, a punch of peat, and a bit of breadiness.
Palate
Round and full-bodied, with sweet notes of grain and honey combining harmoniously with a fine, yet present smoky note. Hints of oak, light spice, fruit, chilli, milk chocolate drops, an earthy note, coffee, salt, peat, caramel, wood, and citrus.
Finish
Medium-long, soft, and warming, with smoke subtly present, accompanied by a dry spice and a slightly salty aftertaste reminiscent of a fresh sea breeze. Also described as short but sweet with some salt, hot and spicy, and fading into brine and peat.
