Description

A Speyside malt distillery that is part of the Diageo Scotch whisky holdings. Opened in 1817, it almost exclusively provides fillings for blends and despite several expansions this remains the case today and only the 10-year-old Flora & Fauna is permanently available as a single malt. An Edinburgh-based cask broker, bonder and independent bottling company. Established in 2020 by George Keeble, the Fragrant Drops brand focuses on high-quality, unique whiskies, often single cask releases. This Teaninich single malt was distilled in 2010 and aged for 13 years, including a finish in a fresh Sauternes barrique. It was bottled in 2024 by Keeble Cask Co. for their Fragrant Drops range, with a total outturn of 261 bottles.

Nose
Wonderfully fresh with bright fruit (lots of lemons and a hint of unripe pineapple), hints of fresh custard and some grassy green tea in the background.
Palate
Full-bodied with hints of sweet apples and grapefruits. Pear brandy.
Finish
Long aftertaste where the solid spirit of Teaninich is really complemented by the Sauternes.
