Description

Teeling Distillery, located in Dublin's historic Liberties area, released this 12 Year Old Single Malt as part of their Explorers Series. This 'Brazilian Edition' was initially matured in ex-Bourbon casks before a finishing period in Virgin Amburana Brazilian Hardwood. Bottled in 2022 at 46% ABV, it is a non-chill filtered Irish Whiskey.

Nose
Smells like a carrot cake, with cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and buttery vanilla sweetness.
Palate
Very richly sweet, quite like buttercream frosting, and more of those spices from the nose, with a nice mouthfeel.
Finish
As the sweetness and spice start to fade, the oak char and some of the malty character comes through.
