Nose
Honeyed apple, old leather, soft hints of spicy rye leading into subtle woody smoke, with red grape lending a rich sweetness. Aromas of hard plums, sea air, forest floors, new car, old leather, forgotten fruit bowl, malty grains, sprouted rye, honey, apples, and a touch of balsamico. Bowl of porridge with golden syrup, chocolate, brown sugar, cola, raisins, and red berries.
Palate
Red fruit notes of blackberry and stewed plums, core of leather and mature oak, hints of brown butter and floral grains. Flavours of fresh blackberry, stewed stone fruits, old oak and new timber, rounded off with notes of bourbon, brine, and butterscotch. Like eating a red apple that fell on the floor littered with sawdust, with hits of fruit peels, oak, straw, hidden smoke, floral notes, and subtle hints of buttery crumpets.
Finish
Forest floor, toasted cereal, butterscotch, and a savoury hint of sea breeze. Faintly floral finish through damp autumnal decay. Sweet fruity flavours with buttery notes and memories of rye whiskies.
