The Thompson Bros (from Dornoch Distillery) Mystery Malt Series No. 1 is an innovative independent bottling concept launched in 2024/2025, designed to add an element of surprise to single malt Scotch whisky purchases. Each bottle is presented in opaque black glass with a uniform label, bottled at 48.5% ABV. The distillery name and age are concealed under the capsule seal and on a cork sticker, revealing the true identity only upon opening. The series includes 16 different expressions from various distilleries, ranging in age from 4 to 29 years.
