Nose
Rick , round, complex with vibrant red fruits and a hint of herbs. Notes of figs, dried apricots, cranberry jam and orange marmalade. Mild bright camphorous note with mint, cloves and fennel. More berries with raspberries and blackberries accompanied by a dry oak, dark chocolate and a slight touch of motor oil.
Palate
Round, heavy, syrupy in consistency. Bright and honeyed, with a Calvados-like quality, before plunging into concentrated jammy depths of cherries, prunes and red raisins. Liquorice and some baking spices, with anise and sweet cinnamon, developing into a mild savoury nuttiness of roasted pecans and baked almonds.
Finish
Long with a fading note of jam, roasted pecans and a growing bitterness of strong Vietnamese black coffee, brown sugar and a bit of astringent wood. Oily into the finish, golden raisin, malt, Macallan-like.
