Description

A Scottish malt whisky distillery on the Isle of Mull, originally established as Ledaig back in 1798. Having experienced a turbulent early history, Burn Stewart Distillers has brought success and stability to it in the modern era. It currently produces a standard non-peated spirit and a peated malt. *

Nose
Oceanside parks and lush pine needles, layered with a dry, ashy, smoke. Embers of a dying bonfire. Beneath the peat, delicate floral hints of geranium seep through, providing an elegant contrast.
Palate
Intensely smoky whisky, complemented by umami notes of pancetta and seaweed. This richness is cut through by a bright and refreshing kabosu (sorbet-like Japanese citrus) note.
Finish
Lingering tastes of sweet peach and apricot, wrapped in gentle, white smoke. Departs the palate on a dry, tannic, vapor.
