Description

Togouchi 9 Year Japanese Blended Whisky is crafted by Chugoku Jozo (now Sakurao Brewery and Distillery) in the Hiroshima region of Japan. This whisky is a blend of imported Scottish malt and Canadian grain whiskies, aged for nine years in oak barrels, including bourbon and sherry casks. A unique aspect of its maturation is the aging process in a 361-meter-long abandoned railway tunnel, which provides consistent temperature and humidity ideal for whisky maturation.

Nose
Intense aromas of sweet spices and ripe yellow fruit, with subtle hints of vanilla, caramel, chocolate, and dried fruits like plums and raisins, intertwined with oak undertones and a faint herbal note.
Palate
Fresh, dry, and well-balanced, with bright citrus, warming spices, lemon and orange zest, subtle oak, and notes of spicy vanilla, green tea, apricot, and a touch of fig. A gentle smokiness and malt develop, with a creamy sweetness and a spicy touch of pepper and nutmeg.
Finish
Vibrant, lingering, clean, crisp, and smooth, pairing bright citrus with spice, and threading in peat smoke for a lasting, warming glow, with an aftertaste of malt and a subtle smoky note.
